Bright sunshine. Makes you feel that Spring is right around the corner.

Thought for the day: ...what was I that I could withstand God? (Acts 11.17b)

A pastel morning with snow still on the ground.

Thought for the day: God asks: Do you love me?

And sometimes, it just looks like this outside. Same view as always, zero visibility. A relentless, heavy, quietly accumulative sort of snow.

Thought for the day: Sometimes all we have to go on is faith and faithfulness.

A quiet Saturday morning with a 'big fish little fish' cloud roaming the sky, making Manhattan look like the fake scenery people place at the bottom of a fish tank.

Thought for the day: We cannot stop going forward.

This whole weekend passed by like a nightmare - it really feels unreal now that I am on my way to recovery from a bout of stomach flu. And the weather, too, I remember seeing snow out of the window in my dehydrated stupor, which seems unreal given how it is now outside.

Thought of the day: suffering isn't punishment; it is just life. You just have to learn to live in uncertainty.

More biblical clouds... or is it Lord of the Rings?

Thought of the day: You've got to allow God to take (and give) as He pleases. After all, this is / we are His. And He is far bigger than little us.

Can't quite capture the luminosity; the setting sun reflected on the facades of skyscrapers is in actuality brighter and more shimmering, luminous, beautiful than can be shown by photo. And it is gone in a blink.

Thought of the day: 'Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.' (Acts 1:11)

An almost biblical sky. What a wet few days it has been - just drizzle after drizzle after drizzle, it almost doesn't feel like New York City. I do like rain though, it cleans everything up like nothing else does.

Thought of the day: Surrender to the good in everything.

Shrouded in fog... Wonder whether there will be a ruckus tonight - as there was on Sunday night after the Super Bowl game - after all the votes are in for Super Tuesday.

Thought for the day: (as I said...) ...as it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever.

First sign of dawn.

Bible study yesterday at a new church: a non-clergy leader of the class asked the students what issues they were grappling with in their lives. Perhaps it was the nature of the issue itself that we decided to discuss - 'forgiving' (how difficult it is) - but when I started reflecting on my own of a question / issue to bring to discussion next week, I realized - sort of awakened to a truth - that every answer to any question a human being asks is the same: turn to God, let the spirit work it out while you rest in the blessing of peace granted by faith. Every question I brought up seemed automatically to be answered by yesterday's answer.

Thought of the day:
...as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever.

A beautifully warm Sunday morning. A day filled with newness and possibilities...

Thought of the day: Forgive and be forgiven; give and be given. All has been set before us by God; we only need to face toward him and receive.

A cold wet winter's day. Actually it isn't that cold at 44 degrees F, just the damp makes it feel so.

I like the rain, even if it is a little inconvenient. I don't mind being inconvenienced by rain.

Thought of the day: There is a way you can choose to be at peace always - you can not mind feeling however you feel - sad, guilty, hurt, dejected... or even unhappy... or... happy.
