A few wisps of cloud drifting out to sea like a row of ducklings...

Morning clouds putting up a fight against light - like a serpent with a jawless mouth swallowing the light whole. But light always wins...

Sky definitely changing with the season. I see a school of small fish followed by a group of whales, and a slightly ominous shadow of a shark swimming above them...

Fairytale animal clouds running helter-skelter with the rising sun;

Strong gusts sending bits of cloud scattering - like sheep being chased by a big dark, slow-moving ominous presence with a gaping jaw and covetous arms...

Mid-afternoon fairytale clouds with yachts starting to appear on the river...

A very busy Sunday sky, with clouds like mythical dragons and boatloads of beasts running away from the first light of dawn...

Thought for the day: We are shaped by what we give worth to.

There is bright sunshine out there now, but I like this sky from earlier this morning. Both the clouds and the skyline are hauntingly sihlouetted by the morning sun. The clouds show an appropriately gothic scene; a deranged cat taking a bite out of a big fish - it could also be my nephew taking a bite out of my arm...

Thought for the day: 'So it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God who shows mercy.' (Romans 9.16)

View 22 Face in the... Cloud

This morning the clouds look unreal, almost mimicking the drama of human life that appears in miniature beneath. Nature is amazing - so changing and yet constant in a way that we can only be with people we love.

Thought of the day: don't try to get out of the day more than is there; what you are seeking is most likely something from within that you are trying to avoid looking at. 'Face' it.

View #16 More fairy tale clouds

Did I say today's sunset wouldn't be as beautiful as yesterday's... how wrong I was. The fairy tale clouds are still darting across the sky; this one could be a very illustrative one with lots of animals appearing (and chasing after one another) - musicians of Bremen or even just the rambunctious song 'Old MacDonald'?

There is a poverty in me that says that what I have now is all I will ever have, and that tomorrow I will have less (or that there will be more to give a sort of general inflation); and I am happily proven wrong time and again.

Today is always better than yesterday, better even than a thousand yesterdays...

(PS Did take my own advice and ventured out this morning into the city; took a walk - albeit very short - in Central Park eating brioche; the idea was to have breakfast walking through Central Park; it was so cold that I could barely coordinate the eating, but enjoyed every minute.)

Wonderful morning with fairytale clouds. A high of 27 degrees F is forecasted; these cold January days look so beautiful, enticing us out of doors to face the bracing, bone-rattling cold that so defies appearances.

Thought of the day: Be enticed. Leave heaven to heaven for a day; be the king of the molehill and play!
