First sign of dawn.

Bible study yesterday at a new church: a non-clergy leader of the class asked the students what issues they were grappling with in their lives. Perhaps it was the nature of the issue itself that we decided to discuss - 'forgiving' (how difficult it is) - but when I started reflecting on my own of a question / issue to bring to discussion next week, I realized - sort of awakened to a truth - that every answer to any question a human being asks is the same: turn to God, let the spirit work it out while you rest in the blessing of peace granted by faith. Every question I brought up seemed automatically to be answered by yesterday's answer.

Thought of the day:
...as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever.

View #21 ... and the sun goeth down

The Manhattan night view - a bit dark; earlier would've produced a better photo while the sun still illuminated from just beneath the horizon.

Why do we assume that toiling and laboring is the way to achieve...? We think that if we endeavor with 'fight' in our hearts, we achieve what we have set our hearts on. It doesn't work that way, though.

Thought for the night: when we resist what is in order to chase after something that is not, we lose the very thing we are after - and lose our self in the process also; we cannot change what is already there; we have to first accept what is - it's futile to fight what already is - then we can do what we are able to now to make the next moment how we want it; honor the things of today, chasing after the things of tomorrow will not make the todays of the future any better.

I like this quote: Today well lived makes every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness, and Every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.

I wonder whether people inside this view are living this day well, right now.
